Singer, violinist, composer, electronic music producer. Her style combines the artistic heights of the classical violin with extraordinary uniqueness, the sincerity and raw beauty of Central and Eastern European folk songs, and the vibrancy and danceability of contemporary electronic music.
During her over twenty-year career, through countless exciting Hungarian and international collaborations, she has found her musical voice, characterized by extraordinary spiritual richness, spirituality, creative and beautiful female energies, and a poetic approach. Her ideas combine traditions and ancient artistic values with modern sound experience in an ingenious and original way.
As a composer, a recurring source of inspiration for her is the intellectual, emotional, and linguistic richness of the masters of poetry. For her, music is a mood-painting tool that conveys layers of the message within the lyrics, to the very soul of its listener. Music by “Mókus” is an intellectual journey, a moving experience that addresses both body and soul. Her oeuvre to date is marked by her 15 albums as composer and producer. Also, her career is represented by the music created for the many stage productions and films continuously performed internationally.
Her band transforms this experience into acoustic instrumental chamber music, with the help of violin, guitar, keyboard, saxophone, folk wind instruments and percussion. At the band’s most exciting concerts, the lineup expands with string orchestra colors into a symphonic experience that translates the wide-angle imagination of landscape painters into the language of music.
In the more intimate concerts for smaller audiences, the intimate interplay of a string quintet (violins, bassoon, cello) and Mókus’s vocals creates a cathartic musical experience for the listener.
